It's #FindYourSong Friday - the day for music, art, film and poetry about life, death and immortality. Here is this week’s pick:
We are all going to die, but illness rocks us to our core. Whether it is our own illness or someone we love, it quickly causes us to shift perspective. Have we been living the life we want to live? Have we said everything we need to say to those we love?
Illness also causes us to question how we got there and why it is happening to us. Sheryl Crow's song, Make It Go Away, pulls aside the veil we often hold over our unfinished business and asks for a second chance. In this, she also acknowledges that a second chance might be just as hard as dying.
I tried to find an interview with Sheryl about this song, but came up empty-handed. However, the beauty of songs is that we hear what we need to hear. Some days a song is just a song. Other days, it is the catalyst that pushes us through the darkness. Which songs have helped you process the emotional rollercoaster of illness?
Do you have any creative works you would like to see featured on #FindYourSong Friday??
Please share, ask questions, leave comments, suggest topics, and tell stories! I want to hear about your moments of magic, miracles, and synchronicity.
Dare to be immortal.
