Our mission at The Great Blue Song Project is to make great music that inspires people to live their best lives. In order to do that, we pair songwriters with people coping with illness or grief so that they can harness the power of songwriting to guide them through a challenging time. We know that everyone has a story. EVERYONE HAS A SONG. We want to help you find yours.
The Songwriting Process
The Details
The songwriting process is the same for each package, but you get to choose your level of studio production. With both options you get 10 USB music cards and a framed copy of the lyrics. Your song will also be made available on major streaming platforms. Payment plans are available. Schedule a call with us to find out more.
OPTION 1 ▸ $2,100
Singer-Songwriter
This option includes a professionally produced song with one singer and one instrument.
OPTION 2 ▸ $3,400
Full Band
This option includes a professionally produced song with a full band. Instrumentation will be tailored to fit the feel of the song.
The Fine Print
We will make a formal agreement about the terms before we start, but there are a few things you should know:

There are no rules about the topic of your song. If you have an idea, your songwriter will help turn that into a song. If not, your songwriter will help you find one through conversation.

The entire process takes 3-6 months. Factors such as payment options and studio availability will affect this.

You get to decide whether we share information about you and/or your story publicly.

If you want other products related to your song (e.g., CDs, vinyl, t-shirts, etc.), we can facilitate that for an additional fee.

You will be able to share the song and use it for non- commercial purposes, but we reserve ownership of the song. Royalties go back to the organization to support our mission.

This is not the usual songwriting workshop. Our songwriters will write a song FOR you, with your guidance, but it is not a hands-on experience. It's like hiring someone to build a house: you could pound nails, but it's best left to the professionals.

The fee for this service is not tax-deductible because you are getting something in exchange for the payment. However, your investment in a song supports The Great Blue Song Project's overall nonprofit mission and helps us keep the lights on so we can can continue to provide songwriting for others who do not have the financial means to commission a song.
